Bobbie Jo Willis Raven, 80, Dies

Bobbie Jo Willis Raven, 80 of Whitesburg, passed away on Saturday, April 13. She was born June 20, 1932 in Carrollton, the daughter of the late Robert E. Lee Willis and Jewel Boatwright Willis.

She was a graduate of Villa Rica High School, Class of 50. She had worked in Avon Sales, was also a homemaker, and assisted the elderly for more than 15 years. She was Baptist by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Raven, Sr.; brothers, Billy Willis, Willard Willis, and Winfred Willis; and sister, Betty Willis. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: William “Reggie” & Karen Raven of Locust Grove, Georgia, and Randall “Randy” & Teri Raven of Hogansville, Georgia; brothers and sister-in-law: Max & Doreen Willis and Larry Willis, all of Carrollton; grandchildren: Dana English, Jeremy Raven, Ashleigh Raven and Bradley Raven; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Greg Nabors officiating. Interment followed in Whitesburg City Cemetery.
