Stanley Lee Gentry, 60 of Carrollton, passed away Friday, April 19, at Tanner Medical Center from a massive heart attack. He was born Dec. 03, 1952 in Carrollton, to Stanley Gentry and Annie Barrentine Gentry. He was a graduate of West Georgia College and is a CPA. He served proudly in the U.S. Army and received the National Defense Service Medal.
He is preceded in death by both his parents. Survivors include his wife, Rosie Kimbrell Gentry; children, Phillip and Lakeyda Geter of Cullman, Ala., Richard and Jennifer Geter of Woodland, Ala., Sam and Becky Gentry of Carrollton, Ga., and Garrett Gentry of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Shelia Dowda of Villa Rica, Ga.; brother and sister in law, David and Kathy Gentry of Winston, Ga.; six grandchildren, Zachary Whitaker, Mallory and Makenzi Geter, Hollis Entrekin, Samantha and Gracie Gentry; six step great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one niece, Rita Harper and one great-niece Reanna Harper.
Funeral services w ill be conducted Sunday, April 21, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Gary Stewart and Rev. Tony Sullivan officiating. Pallbearers will be Dennis Sullivan, Larry McKenzie, Billy Hannah, Fred Holmes, Christopher Wilcox and Keith Robinson. Interment will follow in the Carrollton City Cemetery with Ron Martin speaking at graveside. The family will receive friends today from 5 till 7 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.
