Army Vet Jose 'Joe' Solorio, 66, Dies

Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. from Hightower's Memorial Chapel, Douglasville with Rev. Stan Wenck officiating.

Jose “Joe” Jesus Solorio, Jr., 66 of Douglasville, passed away, Jan. 13. He was born Nov. 5, 1946 in Chicago, IL., to the late Jose Jesus Solorio, Sr. and Antonia Esqueda Solorio. He was a US Army Infantry Veteran serving in Vietnam, and retired after 37 years from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of the American Legion Post 145 and was Catholic by faith.

Survivors are his wife Patricia “Trish” Carol Brubaker Solorio of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law: Anthony Joseph & Colleen Solorio of Dekalb, Illinois, Daniel and Anne Solorio, Brian and Erica Solorio, all of Chicago, Illinois; step-children: Patrick Joseph and Michele Scuro of Coraopolis, PA and Victoria Elizabeth Scuro of Sewickley, PA and twelve grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel, Douglasville with Rev. Stan Wenck officiating.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10 until 11 a.m. the service hour at the funeral home.

In accordance with his wishes, his body will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring to do so may make contributions in his memory to the Douglas County Humane Society or the Paulding County Humane Society.
