Army Vet Jimmy G.H. McCray, Jr., 78, Dies

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 3, at 2 p.m. from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Dr. John Pennington officiating.

Jimmy G.H. McCray, Jr., 78 of Douglasville, passed away, March 30, 2013.  He was born January 18, 1935 in Douglas County to the late George Harvey McCray, Sr. and Florence Grizzard McCray. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a business owner of several entities during his career and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville.

Survivors are his loving wife, Ann Rice McCray; daughter and son-in-law: Cathy and Dennis Swanger of Douglasville, son and daughter-in-law: Jeff and Carol McCray of Palisade, Colorado and grandson, Christopher McCray.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 3, at 2 p.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Dr. John Pennington officiating. Music will be rendered by Diane Gray. Interment will follow with Military Honors, in the Central Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers are: Harold Morris, Max Craft, Terry Rainwater, Ed McCray, Dennis McLain, Johnny Morris, Charles Camp and Bob Yancey. The Yoeman Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Douglasville will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 5 until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
