Army Vet Jeffery Alan Davis, 36, Dies

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel today from 4 until 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home.

Jeffrey Alan Davis, age 36, passed away Nov. 7. He was born March 10, 1976 in Mendota Illinois. His family moved to Douglas County where he attended Alexander High School and graduated from Lithia Springs High School in 1994.

While in the U.S. Army in Ft. Knox Kentucky he attended the University of Louisville where he served honorably as a Calvary Scout and was a Bradley Navigator. He was stationed at Fort Knox Kentucky, Fort Irwin California, and Fort Stewart Georgia. He furthered his education at West Central Technical College after which he established his career in the mortgage lending business.

He was an avid hunter and sportsman and was devoted to his family. He was a talented musician and writer.

He is survived by his daughter, Jordan Davis; his parents, Deborah and William Tuggle and Kent Davis; Sisters, Allison (Larry) Craig, Cindy (Greg) Shoops and brother, Scott (Becky) Tuggle; Grandparents, Jean Credi; and preceded in death by Grandparents, Quinto Credi and Phil and Amber Davis and Val D. Young; Nieces and Nephews, Emma O’Connor, Matthew Craig, Charlotte Tuggle, Natalie Tuggle, and Jared Shoops; and many aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel today from 4 until 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Chaplain Carter Check officiating.

Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica with military honors provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Sokol Allman, Larry Craig, Hampton Kelley, Douglas Reed, Joey Reed, Scott Tuggle and Travis Tolliver.
