Blake "Pops" Shore, 80, of Villa Rica, passed away on Tuesday
evening, Aug. 20. He was born on Aug. 25, 1932 in Boone,
NC., the son of the late Stuart Glenn Shore and Cordellia Lee
Cook Shore. He worked as an electric motor repairman, having owned and
operated Pompano Electric Motor Repair for thirty years. He worked for
a number of years at Excel Apparatus in Charleston, SC.,
retiring at age 79. Mr. Shore was a United States Army Paratrooper
Veteran. He was a man of great faith in God. He was an ordained deacon
and elder, having served in churches in Pompano Beach, Florida and
Charleston, South Carolina. He was a member of Discovery Church in Villa
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a
sister. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Arlyne Marie Shore of
Villa Rica; children: John & Ann Shore of Carrollton, Georgia, and
Julie and John Foster of Boca Raton, Florida; sister, Katherine White of
t Charlotte, Florida; brother, Harold Shore of Morganton, North
Carolina; grandchildren: Blake Shore, Heather Johnson, Erin Hope, Casey
Shore, and Patrick Moran; great grandchild, Hannah Johnson, and a number
of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Pastor Alan Trippe
officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on
Saturday from 2 until 4 p.m.
In accordance with the family’s
wishes, the body will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, family request
