Army Vet Anthony Allen Gantt, 66, Dies

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on today from 5 to 8 p.m. The graveside service will be Tuesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.

Anthony Allen Gantt, 66 of Winston, passed away Friday, March 29. He was born Oct. 14, 1946 in Villa Rica.

Mr. Gantt was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam, a retired driver with Valvoline Oil Company, and a former Detective with the Douglas County Sheriffs Department. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church and loved fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mattie Pope Gantt.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Gantt; daughters, Alice Pitts and husband Jason, Rebecca Grant and husband Ed; grandchildren, Memphis Pitts and Faith Grant; sister, Pat Latimer and husband Thomas; mother-in-law, ImaL Waldrop; brother-in-law, Chris Waldrop and wife Sheryl; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m. The graveside service will be Tuesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery, 8445 Ephesus Church Rd., Villa Rica, GA 30180 with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating.
