Annie Mae Crook, 90 of Carrollton, passed away on
Thursday, Aug. 15. She was born Oct. 22, 1922 in Cleburne
County, AL., the daughter of the late Phillip Lyndon “Boss” Meeks
and Evie Emiline Baughn Meeks. She was retired from Lawler Hosiery
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Ellis Herbert Crook, and brothers: Albert Meeks and Herman
Meeks. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Penny Crook
of Villa Rica; brothers: Shellie Meeks of Carrollton and Hoyt Meeks of
Bremen; one grandson, Stuart Crook; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Dr. Earl Goode
officiating. Music will be rendered by Debby Cook. Those serving as
pallbearers will be Keith Smith, Kim Smith, Randy Cansler, Michael
Richardson, Marvin Morris and Mike Keener. Interment will follow in
Cleburne County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service.
