Amry Vet Richard Juwett 'R.J.' Brady, Jr., 73, Dies

Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 16, at 2 p.m. from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Bro. Kenny Townsend officiating. Music will be rendered by Macy Dennis.

Richard Juwett “R.J.” Brady, Jr., 73 of Douglasville, passed away, June 14. He was born June 27, 1939 in Jefferson, GA., to the late Richard Juwett Brady, Sr., and Louise Carroll Brady. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the 82nd, 101st, 11th Airborne Divisions. He worked as a diesel mechanic and he retired from Penske. He was Baptist by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Brady and sister: Carolyn Townsend.

Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Shirley Bowlin Brady of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law: Richard “Rick” Juwett Brady III and his wife, Deborah of Carrollton, Randy Brady, and his wife, Billie of Douglasville; daughters and son-in-law: Pamela and Dale Collins and Sandra Brady Bowen, all of Douglasville; brother: Terry Boyd Brady of Winder; grandchildren: Richard Juwett Brady IV, Scotty Boyd Brady, Tiffany Brady, Matt Hollis, Stephanie Jenkins, Johnny Brady, Jr., Jeffery Brady, Kourtnie Collins, Randy Brady, Jr., Brittany Talley, Emily Brady, Cassie Nalley, Christopher Nalley and Ryan Bowen, and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 16, at 2 p.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Bro. Kenny Townsend officiating. Music will be rendered by Macy Dennis. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Grandsons serving as Pallbearers. The United States Army Honor Guard will provide military honors.

The family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
