Air Force Vet Thomas 'Tom' Michael Vlahos, 71, Dies

Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Alan Clayton officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Family Care Center of the funeral home.

Thomas “Tom” Michael Vlahos, 71 of Winston, passed away, Wednesday, Dec. 05. He was born Oct. 7, 1941 in NY to the late Michael Vlahos and Barbara Vutsinas Vlahos. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked during his career as a car salesman and until retirement worked as a machinist for the Atlantic Envelope Company; one of his greatest pastimes was that he truly loved to rescue dogs. He was of the Greek Orthodox faith.

Survivors are his wife, Eva Donna Pineau Vlahos of Winston; sons and daughter-in-law: Mark & Danielle Vlahos of Dorchester, Mass. and Steven Vlahos of Washington; sister and brother-in-law: Lola and David Capobianco of Sargas, Mass; sister-in-law: Ann Fortin of Bridgewater, MA; grandchildren, Cole Vlahos and Ethan Vlahos, both of Dorchester, Mass.

Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Alan Clayton officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Family Care Center of the funeral home.

Interment will be held in the Georgia National Cemetery, at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 10, with military honors.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, Dec. 9, from noon until the service hour of 1 p.m.
