Daniel Emmett Peterson, II, 76, of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, March 3. He was born October 8, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Peterson was retired from the U.S. Air Force with 21 years of service having served 3 tours during the Vietnam war and was retired from the Civil Service Sacramento Army Depot as an electronic warfare technician. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles sports fan. Mr. Peterson was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Cora Peterson; sister, Virginia Peterson; and brother, Russell Peterson.
He is survived by his wife Severa Peterson; daughter, Jeanette K. Johnson and husband Rodney; son, Daniel Emmett Peterson III and wife Wendy; daughter, Bernadette Christine Peterson; son, William Luis Peterson; granddaughter, Carlia Janai Jackson; grandson, Sean Daniel Emmett Peterson; great-granddaughter, Audrina Severa-Samone Jackson;sister, Ellen Lucas and husband Robert; brother, Warren Peterson and wife Meridel; sister, Edna Peterson; sister, Margaret Peterson; brother, Robert Peterson and wife Annette; sister, Gwendolyn Franklin and husband Walter; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday, March 8, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Father Kizito Okeke officiating. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery at 1 p.m.
