AHS Grad, 19-Year-Old Blanton Anthony Harper Dies

Blaton Anthony Harper, 19 of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, April 6. He was born Feb. 21, 1994 in Austell. Blaton was a 2012 Graduate of Alexander High School and worked for Scott Evans Dodge & Jeep. He loved his music, motorcycles and working on cars. He attended Cross Roads Church.

He is survived by mother, Alisha Nations and husband Berry of Douglasville, GA; father, Keith Harper of Villa Rica, GA; fiancée Chelsea Maxwell of Douglasville, GA; step-brother, Sean Nations and wife Heather of Lithia Springs, GA; step-sister, Shanna Layton and husband Alex of Lithia Springs, GA; step-brother, Tanner Nations of Douglasville, GA; maternal grandfather, Gordon Little of Wedowee, AL; maternal grandmother, Sharon Harrison of Douglasville, GA; god parents, Wallace and Margaret Harris of Douglasville, GA; other family, Reneé Williams of Wedowee, AL; Darrell Cochran of Winston, GA; Tara and Cory Cochran of Winston, GA; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.  Blaton is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jesse and Dorothy Harper.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday. A candlelight vigil took place on O'Neal Plaza on Tuesday following the visitation. The funeral service will be today at 4 p.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Greg Towler officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
