20-Year Lithia Springs Postal Worker, Cecelia Dotson Shadix, 79, Dies

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 4 p.m. from Hightower's Memorial Chapel, Douglasville.

Cecelia Dotson Shadix, 79 of Winston passed away Sunday, Jan. 13. She was born in Detroit, MI., on June 10, 1933 to the late James Dotson and the late Johanna Dotson. She was retired from the U. S. Postal Service where she worked as a mail carrier in the Lithia Springs area for more than 20 years. She was a member of The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Douglasville.

She is survived by her former husband, Lawrence Shadix;  sons and daughters-in-laws, Steve and Deborah Shadix of Douglasville and David and Roxanne Shadix of Lithia Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Pat Dotson of Clearview, Florida; grandchildren, Johnny McKerley, Amy Robertson, Daniel Shadix, Lindsey Shadix, Dana Cox; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 4 p.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel, Douglasville.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 1:30 p.m. until the service hour of 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

In accordance with her wishes, her body will be cremated following the service.
