Celebrate Our Nation's Constitution

Liberty Voters Project has launched and is planning a National Constitution Celebration. Read about the reasons for this celebration and what Liberty Voters Project hopes to accomplish after it.

On Sept. 17, 2011, the Liberty Voters Project will be hosting a nationwide celebration of the Constitution's birth at many of this nation's state capitols.  The focus will be re-dedicating ourselves to the adherence and enforcement of the Constitution, and re-newing our claim to liberty and freedom by taking a new direction by taking back Congress from the Progressive movement.

Back in 1787, James Madison worked tirelessly to bring together the delegations from all of the States of the newly formed independent America.  Since winning the War of Independence against Great Britain just a scant 11 years prior, the original Articles of Confederation had proved to be deficient in helping to manage affairs of the new nation, as well as problems between the individual states.

The original goal was to amend the Articles of Confederation, but Madison realized quickly that there was too much to be done to simply rectify the problems of a deficient document.  The Articles needed to be completely removed, and a more reasoned, better structured Constitution, put in its place.

Through several hot and humid days of summer in Philadelphia, the many delegates argued, cajoled, pleaded, debated, and wrangled with each other through words and musings to form each section, and there were many times where there were hard fought compromises.  Some came to be prophetic, some came to be hurtful in the light of history.  But what many forget, is that these were not Gods of men, they were imperfect servants to a nation young and new.  They were lawyers, doctors, businessmen, pastors and the like.  Nothing like this document, a document that would guide a nation, a document that would restrict the realm of the Federal government to keep it from interfering or removing the God given rights all men and women inherently have, had ever been created before.

Outside Independence Hall when the Constitutional Convention of 1787 ended, Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it."

Today, after 150 years of gradual undermining of the Constitution, forces seeking to undo what was wrought in 1787 are near their goal of bringing an end to this country and the Constitution that has guided it.  The worst attack came during Wilson's presidency, adding the 16th amendment allowing Congress to tax personal revenue, the 17th amendment that stripped the State's of their power to choose their Senators, and the chaining the citizens of this country by passing the Federal Reserve Act, which ignored what the Constitution says about monies and coinage, and gave a privately owned central bank the power to print our currency and control our economy.  It in effect gave Congress a blank check.

Then came FDR and the New Deal.  Four terms of this Progressive Democrat wrought great destruction to our Constitutional Republic, laying into the fabric threads of socialism with entitlement programs and other devices.

As the decades passed, the two main parties have become more and more alike as they have been infiltrated and overrun with agents of Progressivism.  The Democratic party is almost unrecognisable from its founding by Madison and Jefferson, then Jackson who later helped bring the splintered pieces into a unified party.  It was a states' rights, limited government party - one that fought against and ended a central bank that threatened this country in the early 1800's.  The Republican party has steadily become the opposite of what they were in the 70's and 80's.  They claim to be about limited government and such, but the bulk of Republican office holders have been voting to expand the federal government, increase spending, and push other programs and such that do not fall within the Enumerated Powers of Congress outlined in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution.

Neither party represents the people any longer.  Even after the 2010 elections, those Republicans that were elected on the promises to dismantle the socialist agenda passed by a Democratic Congress in 2009 and 2010, has done little to follow through, and continues business as usual and voting in support of unConstitutional legislation.

The time has come for American citizens to reclaim their role as engaged sovereign citizens of this Constitutional Republic.  Our representatives have become an entitled class, it is time to bring them back down to earth and reality.  The only way we can do this - is to take control of the two parties that control them.

Liberty Voters Project seeks to educate, train, and organize citizens in basic American Civics 101, to create Precinct Teams with the goal of acquiring the precinct captain post for that precinct, IN BOTH PARTIES.  The precinct is the smallest geographic division within the political and election system, and holds the greatest power.  The person that holds the precinct captain post for their chosen party sits on the party's county executive committee.  This committee selects nominees for county party leadership and committees, approves delegates to participate in the party's State Convention, and helps to draft and set in place the platforms and policies of the county party.

LVP members will seek to organize precincts within their county with the goal of taking control of a majority share of each county executive committee (Republican and Democrat).  This will allow the injection of Constitutional principles and values into both parties at the county level.  If we can get a majority of counties under our members control, then it is possible to gain control of the district and state party leadership of both parties.

This will not happen overnight but that's ok.  We didn't get into this mess overnight.

The beauty of this plan - we do not need millions of people to pull this off.  There are 3143 counties in the United States.  If we had 6 members per party in each precinct (12 total), and there is an average of 20 precincts per county, that would total just over 750,000 people.  But that's to have 6 people in every precinct.  We don't need that many precincts.  We only need 55-60% of the precincts in 55-60% of the counties.  Even at 60% across the board, that comes to 272,000 people.  Just over a quarter million.  There are MILLIONS of people that call themselves TEA Party members.  If we could get these people to come on board with this plan, we could literally change the landscape of this nation's political parties within 10 years.

Liberty Voters Project is seeking county and state chapter directors to help us organize and prepare for the National Constitution Celebration and beyond.  I hope you will stand up and get involved, become a member of Liberty Voters Project, and be a leader in your community - even if it is to help get your precinct team organized.
