Lithia Springs Honors Marine Lance Corporal Scott Harper

Lithia shows support for the family of Marine Lance Corporal Scott Harper

Lithia Springs and Douglas County paused at noon today to honor a fallen hero, Marine Lance Corporal Scott Harper. Helicopters signaled the approach of the west bound motorcade as a multitude of citizens turned out along Veteran’s Memorial Hwy. 78 through Lithia Springs.

Accompanied by members of the Marine Corps and his family, the procession of law enforcement officers, various veterans groups and motorcycle organizations passed the Annette Winn Elementary School as the students watch the solemn event. The students and teachers stood quietly with hands over their hearts, while others saluted, to show their appreciation to his family for his service and sacrifice to our nation.

The 12 minute procession continued on to Douglasville where Harper’s family will receive friends at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home on Friday from 5 – 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 – 9 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Ephesus Baptist Church, 8445 Ephesus Church Road in Villa Rica.  Interment will follow at the Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery will full military honors.
