County Elections Board Violations Hearing Set for Nov. 16

Douglas County election officials Laurie Fulton and the county elections board will face the State Elections Board for violations of state laws. The meeting will be held November 16, 2011 at 10 o’clock am in the State Capitol building 206 Washington St, SW Atlanta Room 341. 

Based on citizen’s complaints in 2009 an evidence hearing was held in February of this year and the case was bound over to the state attorney general’s office for possible prosecution.

It is not clear what punishment will be handed down in the case but sources have told me a consent agreement (plea bargin) has been signed by the county.

It looks like taxpayer will be footing the bill for legal fees and fines once again!
