The Scouting Movement: Men wanted!

The Boy Scouts of America is the greatest and most influential youth organization in the country, and it is so because the program allows young boys to learn how to be men. To quote the British explorer Ernest Shackleton," Men Wanted for hazardous journey. Small wages. Bitter cold. Long months of complete darkness. Constant danger. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in case of success." There are few organizations left on the modern world that offer such a call to the hearts of men. Young men desire adventure, challenges, to climb the mountains, ford the rivers! Scouting offers these adventures and more! Through the Boy Scouts of America modern boys can experience things that others cannot or will not experience. They will be trained leaders, the future generations of the American civilization, presidents, CEO's, police officers, soldiers, generals, and even rock stars!

Eagle Scout, the most coveted of all achievements in the Scouting program, is not easily attainable. Eagle Scouts are who we want as our future leaders. I have known Eagle Scouts who have helped victims of car accidents, leap into rivers to assist pulling out a drowning victim from a river, and even simply being honest and upright throughout their daily business. Scouting offers a character building leadership program that encourages a lifestyle of honor, integrity, strength, and duty.
