Local Bank Branches Accepting Toys

The two Douglasville branches of Bank of North Georgia are accepting toys for families in desperate need of assistance during the holiday season.

The two Douglasville branches of Bank of North Georgia are accepting toys for families in desperate need of assistance during the holiday season.

Martha Miller, manager of Douglasville's Church Street branch, has been involved with the project for four years.

This year, the donations will go to the Children’s Voice/Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA). CASA is collecting toy donations to benefit second to fifth grade students at Beulah Elementary School in Lithia Springs. http://www.casaforchildren.org.

"We've been very fortunate for the past three years," Miller said. "Last year we helped about 75 families at the . This year we hope to help between 125 to 150 for CASA.

"We're asking customers, residents and employees to bring in new unwrapped toy donations for local families. Every year the numbers have increased so we're very hopeful for this year," she said.

Recognizing that there are literally thousands of families in desperate need of assistance during the holiday season, Bank of North Georgia and Bank of Coweta are hosting Holiday Toy Drives at all 46 branches in metro Atlanta. Last year, a total of 2,787 toys were collected through this program.

Our branch teams are excited to embrace a local charity this season by collecting new, unwrapped toys to help local families. We are hoping that all children will have a joyous holiday this year,” said Don Howard, chairman and CEO of Bank of North Georgia.
