Cool Night Doesn't Deter Shoppers

The line at the Douglasville Best Buy was between 600 to 700 people and the line at Target was more than 1,000.

At just 15 minutes before midnight a slightly cool breeze could not deter thousands from standing in line for hot deals all over Douglasville.

At , the line goes all the way across the strip center and ends somewhere by the closed barbecue restaurant. A deputy estimated that there are about 600 to 700 people in line.

Mary Lou Ross bundled up, brought a chair and didn't even get in line. She just came for the movie. Best Buy personnel set up a huge movie screen in the parking lot and showed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows–Part 2.

"It reminded me of my childhood," she said. "I'm from New Jersey and we used to watch free movies outside like this all of the time."

Leslie Hilderbrand ventured out with her family and friends as well. They were on their way to Target but once they saw the line, she said was the backup plan. They will take their chance at one of three prizes offered to the first 50 people in line, shoes for a year; a two-minute shopping spree or a gift card.
