CAC Offers 'A Magical Evening for the Arts'

The Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/Douglas County will hold its ninth annual gala & auction on Nov. 23.

The Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville/Douglas County is pleased to announce its ninth annual gala, “A Magical Evening for the Arts,” celebrating 27 years of arts services to our community, at the Douglasville Conference Center on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 6 until 10 p.m.

The 2013 festivities will include an elegant buffet catered by Carol Parks Catering, sophisticated live music during dinner and afterwards for dancing featuring Myrna Clayton and the Westside Winds Jazz Ensemble, a strolling magician, silent and live auctions (including vacation getaways, antiques and collectibles and fine artworks created by local artists), a special photo booth contributed by John Barker Studios to capture the fun, a cash bar throughout the evening, and free champagne for toasts. Tickets are $80 per person ($75 for CAC members, individual sponsors and donors) with tables for ten available for $600.

This Gala promises to be a truly magical evening -- and an exciting event not to be missed!

“We are delighted to present the marvelous Myrna Clayton at the city’s beautiful new conference center for our Magical Evening for the Arts this year,” remarked Greg Williams, president of the CAC’s Board of Directors. “We are expecting to sell out this wonderful event so we suggest arts patrons make their reservations for tickets and tables now.  I am especially grateful to our members, volunteers and this year’s gala committee for working so hard to honor our vision and volunteers. They are magical. Organizing a fundraising event is a lot of work. Their efforts are much appreciated and help to support quality arts activities in our community.”

The Cultural Arts Council is one of the top-ranked small arts councils in the state. Last year more than 40,000 people including almost 8,000 students participated in CAC programming activities. Proceeds from the gala benefit support programs and projects sponsored by the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/Douglas County throughout the year.
