Pet Things Donates 4,500 Pounds of Food to Shelter

Pet Things, a Douglas County pet supply store, and its customers have now donated more than 4,500 pounds of dog and cat food to the Douglas County Animal Shelter.

Pet Things owner Terry Brlecic stated that “it is right and responsible for businesses and animal lovers to do whatever they can to help give Shelter pets a good life.”

In addition to the food donations, Mr. Brlecic and his family foster Shelter dogs, take care of the veterinary needs, train them, and adopt them out on behalf of the Douglas County Animal Shelter.

Douglas County Commission Chairman Tom Worthan thanked Mr. Brlecic for his dedication to Shelter pets and to the Douglas County community, stating “if everyone felt and acted like Terry does, we wouldn’t have an overcrowded Shelter with needs.”
