Kristy, Big Guy are Shelter Pets of Week

There are currently 40 cats and 75 dogs at the Douglas County Shelter.

Each week, the Douglas County Animal Shelter highlights a cat and a dog as the “Pets of the Week.” All animals at the Shelter are looking for loving and permanent homes, and it is hoped that the “Pets of the Week” highlight will help bring attention to all of the animals currently housed at the Douglas County Animal Shelter.
Kristy #10540 is a sweet orange and white domestic short hair female cat. She has very pretty yellow eyes and a sweet
demeanor.

Big Guy #10319 is a big, beautiful male American Pit Bull Terrier. Don’t let his size fool you. He is a marshmallow
on the inside - very sweet and very smart. He has been a guest at the Douglas County Animal Shelter for more than a month and he is a favorite of ours, but he needs a nice, loving family and a place to call home.

There are currently 40 cats and 75 dogs at the shelter. Some of the animals have already been spayed or neutered. All adoptable animals are listed on www.petfinder.com

The Douglas County Animal Shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday afternoons, and is located at 1755 County Services Road (off Cedar Mountain Road) adjacent to the Cedar Mountain Landfill approximately 4.5 miles northwest of downtown Douglasville.
