Friends, family and soccer fans you are invited to a soccer celebration in honor AHS alumni and former soccer star Staff Sergeant Josh Bowden at Cougar stadium.
On March 21st at 5:30 the Varsity girls' game versus Columbus will begin. We will honor and celebrate Josh immediately following the game at 7:00. At 7:30, the boys' team will play.
Staff Sergeant Joshua 'Josh' Bowden, 28, of Villa Rica, Ga., assigned to 242nd Ordnance Battalion (EOD), 71st Ordnance Group (EOD), Fort Carson, Colo., died Aug. 31 in Ghazni, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with small-arms fire.
His awards included the Joint Service Commendation Medal with Valor, Purple Heart, Joint Defense Meritorious Service Medal, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Senior Explosive Ordnance Disposal Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
