ABSTRACT PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION AND SHOW

The Atlanta Artists Center Photography Salon and The Art School in Sandy Springs will present an exhibit of abstract photography, entitled Abstract Alternatives, at the Art School's Gallery.

"What is particularly exciting about this exhibit is the opportunity for a group of award-winning photographers to show their appreciation of traditional methods and techniques, as well as their fascination and enjoyment of alternative processes and methods of presentation," said chairman, H. Gay Allen. "You will NOT see what you expect to see and yet love what you feel."

The show will be judged by Jennifer Schwartz who is the creator/executive director of Crusade for Art and is co-creator of Flash Powder Projects.  She regularly participates in portfolio reviews such as PhotoNOLA, PhotoLucida, And Atlanta Celebrates Photography.  She is author of "Crusade for Your Art: Best Practices for Fine Art Photographers," published this year.

The show is open to the general public and is free. The reception and awards ceremony will be held May 16, 2014, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at The Art School in Sandy Springs Gallery.

An educational program will also be offered.

Hours:  Mondays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
