Texas Roadhouse to Cater our Competition to Gather Coats for Kids

If your office collects the most coats for Youth Villages, Patch will pay for your holiday office party.

The giving season is here and Douglasville Patch wants to reward those community businesses in Douglas County that give back to those in need during the holidays.

We've partnered with the Douglas County Chamber's Young Professionals Connection and are collecting coats for the residents at Youth Villages this holiday season.

The coats can be new or gently used and dropped off at the Douglas County Chamber anytime through Dec. 13.

Youth Villages often gets overlooked when it comes to donations and with the cold months ahead, now the need is critical. Residents are ages 5 to 18 and need coats in all sizes ranging from 4T all the way up to plus sizes and big and tall sizes for some of the older residents.

Douglasville Patch is offering an incentive for all coat donors to encourage the business community to contribute to the cause. When delivering coats to the Chamber, each business will complete an entry form that enters their business into a contest to win a “Patch Office Party” the week of Dec. 17 for the business that donates the most coats. It’s that easy!

“YPC is very passionate about serving our local community,” commented Brooke Rodriguez, YPC co-chair. “Donating a coat is a simple gesture that can go much further than just keeping a child warm this winter. These children are in need of safety and security, and some of them do not have a single thing to their name.
It breaks my heart to see children without coats on during the holiday season and I believe that donating a gently used coat to those who are in true need is the least that YPC members can do during this time.”

The Young Professionals Connection is a group of rising business and community leaders ages 21 to 40 who are committed to “connecting with their peers, community, and future” through networking and social events. Individuals who are interested in learning more about YPC should contact the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce or “like” YPC on Facebook at www.facebook.com/young-professionals-connection.

Drop coats by the DC Chamber, located at 6658 Church Street in Downtown Douglasville during business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or contact Sara Ray with questions at 770-942-5022.
