Warrant: Douglasville Man Spit Blood at Officers

They tried to arrest him.

A Douglasville man who Cobb police officers tried to arrest Sunday on stalking charges allegedly pushed, kicked and spit blood at the officers.

Jamell Larry Vaughan was sentenced June 5 in Cobb County Superior Court for aggravated stalking and ordered to stay away from an Austell woman as a condition of his bond. But about 10 a.m. Sunday, Vaughan went to the woman's home uninvited, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

When Cobb police arrived on the scene and arrested Vaughan, he allegedly pushed two officers and caused them to fall against a vehicle, according to the warrant. They used a Taser gun on him, and officers still could not get Vaughan in the back of the squad car.

He allegedly kicked both officers and spit blood at them. He did the same to four other officers, according to the warrant.

Once inside the vehicle, Vaughan allegedly kicked the vehicle to the point that he left a dent on the right rear door, records show.

"Accused refused to stay inside the Cobb County police vehicle and tried to force his way out of the vehicle while being transported to the Cobb County jail," according to the warrant.

Vaughan is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond on charges that include six counts of willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer and one count each of interference with government property, aggravated stalking, and loitering.
