Traffic Stop Yields 20 Pounds of Pot

Frankie Benton was charged with trafficking marijuana following a traffic stop on Interstate 20.

A woman was charged with drug trafficking earlier this week when 20 pounds of marijuana was found in her car during a traffic stop, according to the Douglas County Sentinel.

Officers became suspicious when they pulled Frankie Benton of Snellville over on westbound I-20 near Post Road Monday. Officers asked if they could search the car and Benton said no, the Sentinel reported.

A drug dog found the marijuana, worth between $20,000 and $30,000, in the rear of the car. Benton is being held in the Douglas County jail with no bond.
