Douglasville Approves New Pay Plan

Previously, council members and the mayor were paid per meeting.

The Douglasville City Council Monday approved a new monthly pay plan for city leaders.

Previously, council members and the mayor were paid per meeting, a system that led to overpayments to a former mayor and former and current city council members, according to the Douglas County Sentinel.

In a 4-3 vote, the council voted to go with a monthly pay system. Council members will receive $1,075 a month while the mayor will receive $3,300 a month, according to the Sentinel.
