“It is a great honor to be recognized by the BSA. I want to first thank God for his many blessings, my family for their support and my employers over the years for their willingness to allow me to serve. I want to acknowledge Lithia Springs United Methodist Church for its support of Troop 62 and Troyce Hendrix, the late Doug Belcher and Bill Camp for their unwavering efforts to Scouting. Must give a special thanks to Larry Cohran for sponsoring and along with Karmen Thornton for presenting this prestigious award at the ceremony,” stated Carter when asked what this award meant him.

In attendance for the ceremony was his wife Jane, sons Jake, Jeff, Josh and daughter-in-law.
