Chapel Hill FBLAers Head to State

Six Chapel Hill High School Future Business Leaders will be headed to state competition in Atlanta from March 15 through 16.

Twelve Chapel Hill High School students, all members of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), attended the Regions FBLA conference at Hiram High School on Jan. 31. The members competed in various region competitive events and attended several leadership workshops at the conference. Ten members brought home awards, and six will be advancing to the State Leadership Conference in Atlanta, March 15 through 16.

Placing at Regions:
Diyanah Gilchrist, Alyssia Lowers, Akira Payne – 4th Place - Global Business
Andrew Chew, David Bush – 4th Place - Entrepreneurship
Rasheed Tromp – 4th Place - Business Presentation
Stephon Owens – 3rd Place - Public Speaking II

Advancing to State:
Kaylah Oates-Marable – 10th Place - Business Communication
Donald Johnson – 10th Place - Economics
Michael Shurden – 4th Place - Personal Finance
Justin Bell, Rasheed Tromp – 2nd Place - Marketing
Ashley Stevens – 1st Place - Database Design and Applications
Justin Bell – 1st Place - Public Speaking II

Instructor and adviser Kristin Caverly noted that this has been a tremendous accomplishment for these students who have been working tirelessly as they have worked and prepared for this moment.
