225 Princesses Live Fantasy at Ball

More than 255 princesses and their dates were in attendance at the annual Douglas County Princess Ball. Youngsters enjoyed a magical experience as Deer Lick Park gym was turned into a castle.

On Friday, Feb. 8, the Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department held its annual Fairy Princess Ball. More than 255 princesses and their dates were in attendance. As the participants walked in the door, they were met with a magical experience; Deer Lick Park gym was turned into a castle.

Participants entered into an enchanted forest with trees, plants and lights. As they came to the end of the forest they walked over a bridge mote to enter the castle. Once through the castle they were met by princesses, a fairy godmother and handsome prince.

Throughout the night, princesses and their dates took part in pictures, face painting or had their nails done. They danced on the dance floor or took a ride in a horse and carriage. There was also a dance contest, with the winner getting a trophy and flowers.
