New Cooking Classes At Deer Lick Park!

Cooking Expeditions, a Farm to Table influenced culinary class, is announcing its new location at Deer Lick Park located at 2105 Mack Rd., Douglasville GA 30135. Classes are taught by Chef Treyce G. Avery, a culinary graduate of The Art Institute of Atlanta.  The full culinary experience will feature an array of classes to satisfy every level of culinary interest. This includes 5 basic sessions for student’s ages 4-17, and numerous adult, home school elective, and specialty classes i.e. Canine Cuisine.  Each class is specifically tailored by age group or specialization to accommodate various skill levels and techniques.

Cooking Expeditions will provide a space for local residents to come and learn about healthy, locally grown foods, as well as promote local farmers & markets specializing in locally produced fruits, vegetables, and meats.

In addition to the basic skills instructions, Culinary Tour Classes will immerse you in traditions, cuisines, and customs from not only the U.S. but dozens of countries from around the world. You can keep track of these classes through your passport which will be issued in your welcome packet. Every third week of the month will be dedicated to Bakers Dream Getaway. This is the week to come and learn about baking cakes, pies, cookies, pastries, chocolates & confections. Books & Cooks/Books and Bakers week will center classes around books that will be listed on Cooking Expedition’s website and meals will be created to center around those themes, titles, or characters. Basic classes for the school age children will focus on reading, math, science, social studies, foreign language, music, and art.  Most other classes are slightly more sophisticated and are tailored for adults. You can find more information on each class by visiting www.cookingexpeditions.com online.
