Lewis is a Jack Russell Terrier mix who came to the shelter on May 16th as a stray pick up. He is an adult dog 3-4 years old and sweet as he can be. Lewis hasn't been neutered. Lewis would be the perfect dog for anyone wanting a small dog who is calm and loving. Lewis weighs about fifteen pounds and is full grown. He loves people but right now is is a very scared little guy. Lewis loves to be talked to and petted. Lewis would love to have a forever home where he could cuddle with someone and be loved. Come see Lewis and give him the opportunity to demonstrate what a great little dog he truly is.
If you’re interested in adopting Lewis or any of the other dogs or cats, that are available, please visit the Douglas County Animal Shelter located at 1755 County Services Road (off Cedar Mountain Road). The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The shelter is closed to the public on Monday, but open to rescue organizations on Mondays.
Pet listings are updated daily, however, some animals featured may be adopted prior to your arrival and that after all is the goal. If the pet you are interested in has been adopted, please consider giving another of the many loveable pets an opportunity to be your forever friend and allow them to show you just how special they each are when they are given a chance.
Adoption fees for dogs and cats at DCAC is $25 and there is a $10 micro chip fee. $35 for the opportunity to make a friend for life and the opportunity to give a fur kid a forever home is a small price to pay. All dogs presently receive intake inoculations for kennel cough, parvo and distemper (cats receive distemper) and all pets adopted from the shelter are required to have their rabies shots and be spayed or neutered within thirty days of adoption, unless they are kittens or puppies. The Douglas County Animal Shelter phone: 770-942-5961. If the line is busy, please keep trying as there is often limited staff to answer calls. However, messages left will be returned as time permits.
