Barktoberfest Continues: Old Timer's Round Up Extended

Other specials will be running through the end of the month so make sure and come by and take advantage of the opportunity to adopt one of these wonderful dogs.

Come to the shelter this month and take part in the many specials that are running all month in conjunction with National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. This week the Old Timer's Roundup has been extended and all dogs that have been at the shelter for more than a month are 1/2 off adoption.

There is also a special on Pups and Patriarchs, where all puppies and seniors are also 1/2 off. Other specials will be running through the end of the month so make sure and come by and take advantage of the opportunity to adopt one of these wonderful dogs.

If you are interested in adopting  one of the many beautiful and sweet dogs or cats that are available for adoption, please take the time to visit the Douglas County Animal Shelter located at 1755 County Services Road (off Cedar Mountain Road) this week. The summer months are the critical months to adopt and rescue dogs and cats, so please consider giving one of these dogs or cats a loving and forever home.

Pet listings on each of these pages are updated daily; therefore, some animals featured may be adopted prior to your arrival at the shelter. That after all is the goal. If the pet you have seen promoted and are interested in has been adopted, please consider giving another of the many loveable pets an opportunity to be your forever friend. Come see them and allow them to show you just how special they each are once they are given a chance to be adopted.

Adoption fees for dogs and cats at DCAC is $25 and there is a $10 micro chip fee. $35 for the opportunity to make a friend for life and the opportunity to give a fur kid a forever home is a small price to pay.

All dogs presently receive intake inoculations for kennel cough, parvo and distemper (cats receive distemper as part of a five way vaccination). All pets adopted from the shelter are required to have their rabies shots and be spayed or neutered within thirty days of adoption, unless they are kittens or puppies and they are given extended time. The Douglas County Animal Shelter phone: 770-942-5961. If the line is busy, please keep trying as there is often limited staff to answer calls. However, messages left will be returned as time permits.
