Less adoptable pets are often those who have grown old, or those who have disabilities such as missing eyes or limbs that render them less than attractive to the average adopter.

These disabilities do not reduce their need for homes or the love that these animals can provide to anyone interested in investing their love and time in them.

There are a few who need the special attention and love that only those with an eye of the heart will see and recognize. The Douglas County Animal Shelter is located at 1755 County Services Road (off Cedar Mountain Road). A short drive north of downtown on Chicago Ave and Cedar Mountain Rd.
