Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet Week

Less adoptable pets are often those who have grown old, or those who have disabilities such as missing eyes or limbs that render them less than attractive to the average adopter.

Sponsored by PetFinder, this is an event supporting a combined effort to find homes for those pets who might otherwise not be given a second chance at adoption. Less adoptable pets are often those who have grown old, or those who have diabilities such as missing eyes or limbs, or less than attractive features that render them less desirable to the average adopter. These disabilities do not reduce their need for homes or the love that these animals can provide to anyone interested in investing their love and time in them.

Come see the many pets available for adoption at the Douglas County Animal Shelter this week. There are a few who need the special attention and love that only those with an eye of the heart will see and recognize. They are all sweet little souls who just need the chance to be the love of your life. Come give them that chance and see what a special friend one of these less adoptable pets can make for you.

Pet listings on each of these pages are updated daily; therefore, some animals featured may be adopted prior to your arrival at the shelter. Getting them adopted and rescued after all is the goal. If the pet you have seen promoted has already been adopted, please consider giving another one of the many loveable pets an opportunity to be your forever friend. Come see them and allow them to show you just how special they each can be once they are given a chance to show their love and appreciation fr a forever home.
