Vote for Your Favorite Downtown Business, Attend Recognition Banquet

It’s that time of the year when we celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of Douglasville’s downtown business owners and volunteers. The annual Douglasville Downtown Development Authority’s (DDA) Downtown Recognition Banquet will be Tuesday, May 7, at 7 p.m. at the new Conference Center located at 6700 Church St.

Senator Donzella James, of the 35th district, will be this year’s keynote speaker. James is a member of the Education and Youth, Special Judiciary, Economic Development, and State and Local Governmental Operations committees.   Senator James will be followed by the Downtown Awards ceremony and the Small Business Academy graduation. The Awards ceremony showcases the work of the DDA committee volunteers and business owners, as well as, recognizing outstanding economic development in the Downtown business district. The Downtown Award recipients are selected by the public and the DDA Board.

“I look forward to this event each year because it is an opportunity to publically thank the businesses and community volunteers who make the Douglasville Main Street Program and DDA downtown revitalization efforts successful,” stated Stephanie Aylworth, City of Douglasville’s Main Street manager.

Tickets for this event are $10 general admission and include dinner provided by Carole Parks Catering. Tickets can be purchased at the Douglasville Welcome Center, online at www.ci.douglasville.ga.us, or at the door.
