Vision 21 Concepts Opens to Provide Homeless Men a Place to Stay

Crossroads for Life Ministries, located at 6976 Bankhead Highway in Douglasville, celebrated the grand opening of their most recent venture, Vision 21 on Oct. 9. Crossroads for Life Ministries is led by Pastor Edwin Ford.

Vision 21 Concepts, Inc. hosts the only men's homeless shelter West of Atlanta. They have made a commitment to address the community's need for shelter and restoration for homeless men in Douglas and surrounding counties. At Vision 21, they perform Needs Risk Assessments and host unique, barrier breaking programs that have never been done in the area including a Reentry Program and Door Transitional Program.

The Reentry Program aides ex-offenders who are currently on parole transition back into society.  The goal of the reentry program is to reunite, reconcile, and restore individuals with their families, economics, and communities.  This is accomplished through a positive living environment, structured programs, and strategic case planning. The Door Transitional Housing Program is a truly exceptional residential program for homeless men. “The Door” provides necessary supportive services to men to help them make progress towards permanent supportive housing. The synergy of these components serve as a catalyst for effective and appropriate supportive services.

All programs take place in the Men’s Assessment Center on the campus of Crossroads. The state of the art homeless shelter for men is designed to connect homeless men with the resources to satisfy their most pertinent needs. These services are based on structured assessments that will target their immediate transitional goals. The primary focus is to provide safe, sanitary shelter care to homeless men. Staff assists shelter residents with job search, housing opportunities, and suitable counseling and treatment.
