Kemp Meets with Chamber Groups

By Sara Ray, Douglas County Chamber

Secretary of State Brian Kemp met with the Douglas County Chamber's Government Affairs and Small Business Committees on Wednesday about a number of important topics ranging from the reduction of budget and staff in that office, to significant technology upgrades made in an effort to meet the volume of business license and corporate license renewals in addition to the immigration checks which have increased the work load of that division significantly.

Most exciting was the introduction of the Invest Georgia Exemption (IGE) which allows entrepreneurs to register and raise up to $1 million dollars through crowd funding. This initiative utilizes federal dollars and only Kansas and Georgia currently take advantage of it. For more information, go to http://www.gacfia.org/invest-georgia-exemption/
