Harbor Freight Tools, the nation’s largest discount tool retailer, announced the opening of their newest location at 7424 Douglas Blvd. in the Douglasville Exchange Shopping Center.

Since 1968, has been known as the national leader in selling high quality tools at "ridiculously low prices." Harbor Freight Tools stocks more than 7,000 items in categories including automotive, shop equipment, air and power tools, outdoor equipment, compressors, welding, and woodworking tools. With a lifetime guarantee on all hand tools and outstanding customer service, Harbor Freight Tools is a favorite with business customers such as contractors, government agencies, schools and manufacturing companies, and with tool enthusiasts and do-it-yourselfer’ss who want a top-quality selection while still being value-conscious. The results speak for themselves with more than five million new customers in the last 24 months, as thousands of people switch to Harbor Freight Tools every day.

“We are very excited to be opening the eighth Harbor Freight Tools store in the state of Georgia, and look forward to being a member of the Douglas County community,” said Eric Smidt, CEO of Harbor Freight Tools. “Our business model is simple: earn our customers’ business every day by offering quality tools at ridiculously low prices, combined with superior customer service. In our current economy, consumers are especially cost-conscious and Harbor Freight provides a much-needed alternative to the ‘big box’ retailers that push high-priced brands with minimal attention to customer care.”

Harbor Freight’s donation to NWMA Habitat will help the non-profit organization provide new homes for fifteen families and rehabilitate approximately five additional homes within the Cobb, Douglas, and Paulding counties in 2011. Currently, Douglas County has eleven homes built by a partnership with the homeowner, sponsor, and Habitat for Humanity. The current build in Douglas County will start this June.

Mayor Mickey Thompson was present at the ribbon cutting and stated, “We are thrilled that Harbor Freight Tools chose to locate their business in the City of Douglasville. We appreciate your dedication to the community through Habitat for Humanity and look forward to other future endeavors with Harbor Freight Tools.”
