Conference Center's New Catering Service Gives Proof of Quality Reputation

Proof of the Pudding (POP) brings to the conference center a reputation of culinary excellence and a proven track record in providing great food, warm hospitality, creative presentations, and wonderful experiences.

It’s been over a year since the Douglasville Conference Center opened its doors, and throughout that time has welcomed a diverse selection of events to the facility. Although the conference center ventures on to a new year of service, its underlining mission continues to stay the same: striving for excellence in all areas from amenities to staff, customer service, and economic prosperity.

In an effort to pop and stand out above the rest, the conference center recently entered into a new onsite catering partnership. Proof of the Pudding (POP) brings to the conference center a reputation of culinary excellence and a proven track record in providing great food, warm hospitality, creative presentations, and wonderful experiences.

“Proof of the Pudding is very excited to partner with the Douglasville Conference Center to provide excellent food and beverage services while delivering a high level of customer service. POP very much looks forward to getting involved with the community, building lasting relationships, and creating memorable experiences that result in repeat business for the Douglasville Conference Center,” said Proof of the Pudding Senior Vice President Adam Noyes.

To provide customers onsite catering services more in line with the facility’s vision, the Douglasville Conference Center ended its contract with Carole Parks Catering in late December and entered in a new partnership with Proof of the Pudding earlier this year. The new catering service will cook and prepare all meals in the conference center’s state-of-the-art kitchen to ensure fresh, top quality food. POP will also employ an experienced chef and catering sales manager specifically for the Douglasville Conference Center.

“We are working diligently to hire a very qualified chef and catering sales manager. These positions will be closely supported by the Corporate Executive Chef Vagn Nielson and Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing Dina Biondo,” said Noyes. “We want to take events to the next level at Douglasville Conference Center, and these employees will work very closely together to ensure flawless event execution, superb food quality, and an overall exceptional experience for guests.”

In addition to providing excellent food and beverage services, POP will team up with the Douglasville Conference Center to maximize marketing efforts by partnering on various tradeshows, working closely with the Douglasville Convention & Visitors Bureau for advertising and PR opportunities, as well as attending local networking and continuing education events hosted by the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations.

“Proof of the Pudding has been the top Georgia-based catering company for more than 35 years. POP's catering lead volume and reputation will certainly enhance the opportunities for the conference center,” said Noyes.  “The catering sales manager will also be proactive with quick follow-up to event leads.”

The Douglasville Conference Center’s ultimate goal is to attract events that will stimulate a positive economic impact through visitor spending on hotel/motel tax and sales tax. “While we want to be the premier gathering place for local events, we also want to encourage economic success for the community by attracting meetings and events that generate significant benefits for the Douglasville area,” said Assistant City Manager Marcia Hampton. “We are excited about our new partnership with Proof of the Pudding and are confident that the new catering service will further add value to events hosted at the facility. Their level of expertise rank number one in Georgia and we are glad to provide customers with fresh, quality food and creative presentations that Proof of the Pudding provides.”

Since the new partnership, Proof of the Pudding has catered three events at the Douglasville Conference Center including the City of Douglasville council swearing-in ceremony, Cobb and Douglas Public Health Law Enforcement Summit, and a breakfast for WellStar Health System.

“We started the 2014 New Year off with several exciting new experiences. The swearing-in ceremony, where we swore in three returning council members and one new council member, was highlighted by a reception catered by our new caterer, Proof of the Pudding,” said City of Douglasville Mayor Harvey Persons. “I feel this new council will continue helping make Douglasville one of the premier places in America to live, work, play, and raise a family, and our efforts will be complimented by the addition of Proof of the Pudding. The reception helped benchmark the standard for service, hospitality, and customer service we feel is necessary to establish our conference center as a world-class facility.”

Proof of the Pudding provides an added level of quality, service, and revenue generation for the Douglasville Conference Center. Corporate Executive Chef Vagn Nielson will work closely with the chef assigned to the Douglasville Conference Center to ensure the best possible service for customers.
