Businesses around Douglasville and Douglas County received a “Big Thank You" from the Douglas County Chamber on Wednesday. Chamber Diplomats, Board Members and Young Professionals went door-to-door visiting more than 600 member businesses. This is a coordinated effort by the Chamber to demonstrate appreciation for its member businesses.

During the inaugural “Big Thank You” event, in addition to delivering face-to-face expressions of gratitude, Volunteers provided each member business a personal appreciation packet, which included the newly released Official Community Guide of Douglasville and Douglas County, Map of Douglasville and Douglas County, an invitation to the Member Appreciation Luncheon, and a few items featuring the new Chamber logo that was launched in August.

“While we have our annual Member Appreciation Luncheon on Oct. 31 each year, some of our members are busy growing their business they don’t have time to come to us, so we decided we should go to them,” commented Douglas County Chamber President & CEO, Kali Boatright. “Our mission is to support, promote and attract business for our community and we hope that in visiting members during The Big Thank You, we can see how we can better serve our members.”

The Chamber Director of Membership and Events, Kimberly Weaver, commented further, “We want our members to know of ways to get engaged in the Chamber. We want to remind our members that their membership extends to each of their employees. The more engaged their staff is in our free training, seminars, events, and committees, the more opportunities they have to translate their membership into more business.”
