Irish Bred Pub Set to Throw Biggest Downtown St. Patrick's Day Bash Ever

Let the green beer flow for this first-of-its-kind downtown Douglasville festival.

will be a sea of green this coming St. Patrick's Day. With St. Patrick's Day falling on a Saturday this year, the two-day event promises to be one of the biggest ever in downtown Douglasville.

The for the holiday for all restaurants in Douglasville, until 2 a.m. Sunday morning, instead of midnight on Saturday, which is the regular ending pouring time.

will set up a pouring station in the middle of the plaza and event goers will be able to walk around the plaza with beer in a plastic cup or aluminum container. O'Neal Plaza will be gated off between Broad Street and Church Street and visitors will be allowed to enjoy food and beverages within this much wider area. Douglasville police officers will be posted at all of the entrances, ensuring no one leaves with a beer.

Vendors will also be allowed on the plaza on Saturday. Businesses can purchase a booth for $50, which will go towards starting a downtown promotions budget that can be used for future downtown community events. Those interested in getting a booth, can email theirishbreddouglasville@gmail.com.

Douglasville Patch will be one of the vendors located on the plaza. Everyone in the community is invited to come by the booth and learn more about Patch. Patch will also be giving away green Patch T-shirts while they last, so get there early.

Here is the lineup inside the Irish Bred Pub and on O'Neal Plaza:

Day one, Friday, March 16

  • The Cowtown String Band (Celtic Folk) will perform on the second floor of the Irish Bred Pub from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • The Mulligan School of Irish Dance from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on the Plaza Stage, first and second floor
  • Jinx (Rock Band) from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. (Plaza Stage)
  • DJ Party 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. (second floor) Join DJ Chad and dance the rest of the night away.Β 

Day two, Saturday March 17

  • Sgian Dubh (Celtic Rock & Punk) 3 to 5:30 p.m. (Plaza Stage) and 7 to 10 p.m. (second floor)
  • Ian MacKenzie (Bagpiper) Between 6 to 8 p.m. (Plaza Stage, first and second floor)
  • The Mulligan School of Irish Dance Between 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. (Plaza Stage, first and second floor)
  • DJ Party 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. (second floor) Join DJ Jason Sparks for your own Irish jig dance party.
