fought a tornado over the past weekend, and the cooperative won.

Crews worked from Friday evening until 3 a.m. Sunday morning to bring homes and businesses back to life.

At the height of the storm, approximately 1,400 homes and businesses were without power. While all repairs have been completed on GreyStone’s side, some members whose homes were damaged will remain out of power until an electrician can make repairs. All GreyStone linemen worked to make repairs, as well as three extra line crews brought in from Pike Contracting. Thompson Right-of-Way contractors were also called upon to assist with the cleanup.

GreyStone Operations Manager Steve Findley said in a press release, that the damage was, "The worst in a confined area I have seen in a long time. Replacing 17 broken poles took a great deal of effort and man hours. Our GreyStone linemen and other employees were on call and responded immediately to reverse a devastating situation. At the same time, we were working to repair a smaller number of outages our members experienced in south Fulton which may also have been weather-related.
