American Legion to Host Job Fair

Answering The American Legion’s call to expand employment opportunities for America’s Veterans, will host  a major Veteran-focused (but open to the public) Job Fair on Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The location is 6449 W. Bankhead Highway (just west of Highway 5).

The American Legion invites you to partner with us as we move forward toward our goal of finding meaningful employment for all our military veterans and their spouses and members of the local community. Job Fair Chairperson, Fae Casper, said, “It is important that Veterans are educated, trained and able to translate their military skills into careers in both the public and private-sector. It is important we do all we can to assist our returning veterans to reassimulate into the community with jobs being one of the top priorities”.

Some of local companies participating are: , Southwire, Ra-Lin, , Southern Therapy, Utility Support Systems, American Red Cross, Goodwill, Leggette & Platt and temporary hire agencies including Randstad, Employment Plus, , Victory Staffing and Diversity Sourcing.

Other services offered include VA representatives to answer claims and GI Bill questions, Georgia Tech Government Procurement, WIA, and Department of Labor.

Other companies may still sign up to participate.

It is important to know these companies are not just here to interview. Many are ready to hire now.
