Donations requested for Soldiers' Angels

GreyStone Power shows its support for troops serving our country by inviting Soldiers’ Angels to the co-op’s Annual Meeting of Members. The organization will host a booth at GreyStone’s Annual Meeting in Douglasville on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meeting will be held at the co-op’s main office at 4040 Bankhead Highway. “GreyStone has received several awards for our support of our country’s armed forces, and this is a continuation of that support,” said GreyStone President/CEO Gary Miller.

Members who would like to give back to the troops can visit the Soldiers’ Angels booth to donate requested items. Troops are especially in need of new men’s athletic socks including tube, crew or boot-length styles in white, black, gray or tan. Also requested are bulk amounts of hot chocolate packets (not canisters).

Members are also welcome to bring signed Christmas cards, and cards will be available to sign at the event.

Soldiers’ Angels is a volunteer-based non-profit organization supporting American service representatives and their families. Through their mission to provide aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States military, Soldiers’ Angels has grown to be one of the most recognizable services supporting American soldiers abroad. Inspired by a mother’s dedication to make sure that “no soldier goes unloved,” Soldiers’ Angels took flight in 2003 and within months of its inception the program had grown into a community of thousands worldwide. Today, the organization provides assistance to tens of thousands of American soldiers overseas.
