'Toys for All Ages' at Courthouse

Twenty-two banks are on display in the Douglas County Courthouse Gallery as part of the "Toys for All Ages" exhibit, on view through Thursday, Aug. 2.

Many parents and grandparents will remember the “action banks” from the 20th Century where children would place a coin on a part of the bank, flip a switch, and the coin would disappear into the bank through a variety of fun options - hockey player shooting a puck through a goalie’s legs; a fire engine entering the fire station; a baseball player sliding into home plate.

Twenty-two banks are on display in the Courthouse Gallery as part of the collection of Ford and Becky Gibson. The collection is on view through Thursday, Aug. 2, and is part of the “Toys for All Ages” exhibit that also includes games, teddy bears, puzzles, and antique train components.

A second themed exhibit is also on display in the Courthouse Gallery during July - “Handcrafts from the ” - featuring handmade afghans, quilts, scarves, and hats.
