On the final Saturday concert of the 2012 Spring Concerts on the Plaza series produced by the Cultural Arts Council, May 26, Studio Pop, a Latin Atlanta pop band, will perform Hispanic rhythms ranging from pop classic oldies to New Age music. Studio Pop began as two musicians from Chicago: Rafael Zamarron (lead singer and guitar) and Moises Lomeli (keyboard); both had recorded in different projects and separately toured the United States. They joined together and decided to compose their own music, and then added a group member, vocalist Veronica Gleasson. The band originated in Atlanta, Georgia, when all three musicians relocated from their respective cities. In Spanish, Studio Pop translates into "Estudio de Musica Moderna." Studio Pop’s playlist ranges from Bossa Nova, salsa, rock and distinctive soft ballads.  Studio Pop has performed with well-known artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Luis Enrique, and many other Latin performers. This band has performed in various events in Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, and Miami, as well as throughout Florida. In 2012, Veronica Gleasson and Rafael Zamarron judged the Mexican music show, “La Academia,” a Spanish version of “American Idol.” “This was a great experience for both of these talented singers to be the two judges for this well-known television show,” said keyboardist Moises Lomeli. All three Studio Pop musicians have traveled the world and have an extensive background in the music business.
