City Now Taking Reel Film Festival Submissions!

The City of Douglasville Main Street program invites emerging and young filmmakers to enter its first annual short film festival.

The On the Reel Film Festival, presented by the City of Douglasville Main Street program, invites emerging and young filmmakers to enter its first annual short film festival. Film submissions, are currently being accepted for the following categories: comedy, drama, documentary, animation, and action/suspense.  Each film category is divided into four age groups: youth (ages 6 to 13), teen (ages 14 to 18), traditional age college students, and adult filmmakers 21 and up; film length varies by age group. 

All film submissions are entry free and should be mailed to On the Reel Film Festival, 6694 Broad Street, Douglasville, 30134, Attn: Stephanie Aylworth. Entry deadline is Sept. 13, 2013.   The 2013 On the Reel Film Festival, held Nov. 1 and 2 at the new Douglasville Conference Center, celebrates amateur filmmakers' creative talent in writing, directing, and production of short films.   “The festival provides filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their work to audiences, gain exposure, and connect with industry professionals,” said City of Douglasville Main Street Manager Stephanie Aylworth. “Call for entries is now open and the film festival committee has created a fantastic video to get the word out!”

Films will be screened and winners selected by a panel of industry professionals. Selected films will be announced at a red carpet movie premier on Friday, Nov. 1. Film festival rewards include cash prizes, awards, and other incentives.  Additional information, festival rules, and submission forms are available online at www.onthereelfilmfestival.com.
