Weekend Spotlight: Smyrna Veterans Day [VIDEO]

Find out how you can celebrate Veterans Day this weekend and support your local veterans by participating in the Distribution of Poppies.

This week's Douglas, Cobb and Paulding Weekend Spotlight features an area Veterans Day event in Smyrna where residents can show their support for local veterans.

The City of Smyrna is holding a Veterans Day ceremony at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, at Brinkley Park, in addition to the Veterans Day service held by The American Legion 160 at 11 a.m. outside of the Legion office on 160 Legion Drive.

Residents can help support local veterans and their families by making donations at the Distribution of Poppies events by the Auxiliary of American Legion Post 160 throughout the weekend (watch the video above for details on time and location).

The Auxiliary distribute poppies on both Memorial weekend and Veterans weekend to raise money to aid veterans and their families.

Any word of appreciation for your local veterans? Share in the comments!
