Treat Your Dog to Free Yogurt Today and Benefit the Humane Society

Yogli Mogli is accepting dog food donations today and giving the Douglas County Humane Society 20 percent of all of the day's proceeds. Stop by until 8 p.m. tonight.

Yogli Mogli and the have teamed up today to give you and your pooch a cool treat.

"We love pets and we love animals," Sue Davis said. Sue's husband Larry is co-owner of Douglasville's newest yogurt hot spot, partners with co-owner Bhalla Jyoti. "We want to take care of the pets during this economy."

The yogurt shop started collecting dog food for the pet pantry at noon today and already had boxes full within the hour. They will be collecting donations tonight until 8 p.m. and donating 20 percent of all the day's yogurt sales to the Douglas County Humane Society.

"Celebrate Spring and come have a cup of yogurt," Davis said. "Bring your dog and he'll get a free cup of yogurt."

If you're interested in adopting a dog, you can also say hello to Lady, a Bassadore (black Lab and basset hound mix) and Gracie, a Manchester Terrier and Min Pin mix.Β

"We strive to be more than a yogurt shop," Store Manager Joey O'Bryant said. "We want to get involved with the community and help out our nonprofits, like our friends at the Douglas County Humane Society," he said.

"It's great to work with our local businesses," Diana Memmolo said, president of the Humane Society. "They're helping us get the word out about our homeless pets and we're helping promote local business."
